925 SILVER PLATE, BY ALEXANDRE GUEYTON

The plate is finely chased and engraved with lions and birds among vine scrolls; the center is engraved with a rampant lion beneath a princely crown, bearing the Russian inscription: "Prince Nikolai Borisovich Yusupov, Princess Tatiana Alexandrovna Yusupova".

Example attributed to the renowned "Scandinavian Service", commissioned by the Yusupov family for their eponymous palace on the Moika in Saint Petersburg. Work by Alexandre Gueyton (1818 - 1862), a celebrated Parisian silversmith, acclaimed for the refinement of his tableware and decorative objects created for the European aristocracy.
