Heuer introduced the Monaco in 1969 alongside a trio of watches that housed one of the world's first automatic chronograph movements. Heuer introduced self-winding design in 1969 with caliber 11. Collectors often refer to the Monaco as the "Steve McQueen" because the actor wore one in the 1971 movie, Le Mans.
